Description

The FT locomotive, produced by EMD beginning in the late 1930s, is credited by historians as one of the most important locomotives of all time. The first of EMD’s widely popular F-series diesel locomotives designed for freight service, it was successful in convincing rail systems across the United States that diesel locomotives were the future of rail travel and worthy of replacing long-used steam locomotives. Bachmann’s new HO scale locomotive features a TCS WOWSound® CD-quality 16-bit 44,100Hz decoder with a Keep-Alive® device for uninterrupted operation, even over dirty track. Arriving set for maximum realism, the FT features a WOWSound® sound value diesel locomotive package including an EMD 567A prime mover sound set with choice of 8 horns and 5 bells, plus dynamic brakes, automatic air compressor and air spitter valve, windshield wiper, brake squeal, cooling fans, coupler clank, grade-crossing quill, and all directional quills.
