Lawson Hill was an early color pioneer who recorded the roads around his hometown during the steam to diesel changeover after World War II. His camera captured New York Central’s earliest diesels that conquered the hills of the B&A; the transition from steam to diesel on the B&M; and the unique DL109’s of the New Haven.
