Beautiful pictorial of photos by noted railroad photographer J. Parker Lamb of trains in the South, an area not well covered by other photographers. Dating from 1949 through the early 1970s, these 160 photos show mostly first generation diesels in action. His depiction of early diesel operations on the ACL, SAL, Georgia, A&WP, D&S, GM&O, IC, Southern, CofG, Tennessee Central, NS, Clinchfield, C&EI, VGN, N&W and C&O along with some lesser known lines makes for an outstanding compendium. All photos are black and white.
