Description

200 Class GM-6A 52’ 6” Gondola were built in 1967/1968 by Burlington’s Havelock Shops just outside of Lincoln, Nebraska. The key spotting features are the top chord that ran between the grab irons as well as flat sill plate that ran between the bolsters. Originally built to carry aluminum, steel, and tin coil loads, they eventually ended-up in general service. Initially numbered CB&Q 83400-83599, they later became BN 577400-577599 and eventually BNSF 577400-577599.
