Description

Built as long-distance chair cars by Pullman-Standard, and delivered in late 1949, these cars were fitted with 44 reclining seats, offering low-cost options for overnight travelers. Two were assigned to the “City of San Francisco” and wore UP colors, with an additional three named cars used on the “Golden State” in simulated stainless with a red roof and upper sides from delivery to 1954, when they were repainted into the simplified Simulated Stainless Scheme with red letterboard and numbers in place of the names. Other features include:
Fully assembled with superb WalthersProto detail inside and out
Factory-finished in authentic UP colors with period-correct gray trucks
Owning road’s name in letter board
Mix and match for a custom consist or expand other period streamliners
Factory-installed grab irons
Prototypically accurate window tinting and gaskets as appropriate
Superb detail inside and out
Modeler-installed extended drawbars for 22″ radius curves included
Correct 36″ RP-25 metal wheelsets
Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers

PLEASE NOTE: As these cars are the correct protoype length and feature full underbody detail to match the prototypes, a minimum 24″ radius is recommended for operation.

This model is painted in bright silver (simulating stainless steel) with a red letterboard, as used on the prototypes after 1953.

True scale and true to life miniature model for adult collectors.
Not suitable for children under 14 years.
